About the Position

With the aim of the whole Church engaged in Mission, the Anglican Church Southern Queensland (ACSQ) serves the community through its five commissions and provides much needed services for parishes, schools, theological education, financial services, residential aged care facilities, and community care and social service programs through Anglicare SQ.

A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Executive Assistant to join our team supporting the General Manager, based in our Brisbane CBD offices. The role will provide high-level support to the General Manager and his leadership team, including preparing reports and other documentation; managing electronic and hard copy communications; coordinating meetings; and diary management, in order to ensure that administrative, information and communication systems and processes are effective and responsive and assist in a achieving a high standard of client service.

 

About You

With an extensive background in high level administration and executive support, preferably within a faith-based organisation, your skills and experience will include:

  • Acting as secretary to a management committee or board including agendas and minute taking
  • Complex and robust diary and appointment management; travel and accommodation arrangements
  • An understanding of relevant legislation and standards governing the Diocese, including Church Canons and Regulations
  • Demonstrable capabilities in advanced correspondence management - researching, drafting, editing and proofing
  • Events coordination of business functions and meetings
  • Exceptional level of professionalism and confidence when responding to phone calls, emails and other enquiries
  • Previous experience in developing and maintaining networks and relevant external relationships would be beneficial

Along with your exceptional organisational skill and ability to prioritise effectively, you will also offer:

  • Evidence of a proactive approach to work and a “can do” attitude towards tasks and projects
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong rapport building capacity and the professionalism to maintain effective working relationships at all organisational and stakeholder levels
  • The knowledge to manage, delegate or escalate matters as required
  • Ability to utilise your initiative to make decisions and problem solve; exercise discretion and professional judgement
  • Work under pressure to meet deadlines and deal effectively with confidential and sensitive issues
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office packages (including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 

This role will require a dedicated, passionate and highly competent professional. You will engage with a wide range of people in a mature manner, with a consistent focus on supporting and advocating the reputation of Anglican Church SQ.  The ability to work as high-level support to an extremely busy General Manager is paramount. You will be required to hold a current National Police Certificate and either a Diploma or Certificate in Office Management, Administration or similar.
