About the Position

Through our committed employees and volunteers, Anglican Church Southern Queensland provides ministry, outreach and care to Anglicans and the wider community. From parishes and schools to residential care facilities, community care and social service programs to theological education and financial services each commission undertakes a significant part of the Church’s work.

The purpose of the Parishes and Other Mission Agencies Commission (PMC) is to facilitate strategic planning, policy development and the monitoring of operations in relation to parishes and other mission agencies

The role of Parish Ministry Consultant is to provide support, consultancy and coaching to parishes and clergy to improve the health of churches. NCD is one of the tools that is currently being used. You will also need to be able to use other consultancy tools and methods. You will also be responsible for developing learning networks within ACSQ, focused on supporting participants to grow in particular areas of ministry

This position is on a full time, permanent basis, based in our central Ann St location.

 

About You

A dedicated member of the Anglican Church, your values and faith will be coupled with a skill set that includes:

  • An understanding of the principles and frameworks of Natural Church Development and other parish health tools and consultancy methods
  • Demonstrated ability to provide coaching, mentoring and guidance to parishes
  • A background in quality improvement processes and the relation to potential growth opportunities
  • Creation and delivery of group training, including assessment, learnings and outcomes
  • Ability to identify individual needs and requirements of parishes and work with them to develop effective programs for wellbeing and growth
  • Assistance in the promotion of ‘Learning Networks’ (communities of practice) and wider use throughout the Diocese

An excellent communicator with the ability to inspire and engage others, your personal attributes for success are:

  • High quality consultative skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders
  • Creating connections and building rapport to benefit all parish members & volunteers
  • Exceptional attention to detail and mental agility, including memory, to maintain accuracy
  • Facilitation and group training experience and the capability to work with diverse audience knowledge and engagement

You will be required to hold Qualifications in Coaching and Facilitation and a current Queensland Drivers Licence. Current or previous involvement with a faith-based organisation or training in Theology would be highly regarded.
