About the Position

The Anglican Church Southern Queensland provides much needed services for the community through parishes, schools, theological education, residential aged care facilities, community care and social service programs.

All services within Anglican Church SQ are strengthened by our Financial Services Commission who support the mission of the church by ensuring the proper management of all financial, banking, investment and treasury services across the region. 

We are currently looking for a full time Administration Assistant to join our team based in Brisbane CBD.  The Administration Assistant will provide high quality administrative support to the management and staff of the Financial Services Commission.

Working under the direction of the Executive Assistant, the Administration Assistant is responsible for a range of daily and period administrative tasks including incoming and outgoing mail, stationery and office supplies, document archiving, data entry and meeting preparation.

 

About You

As someone who has recently embarked on your career, you will offer solid knowledge of office requirements and be able to demonstrate the following:

  • A solid knowledge of general administration duties including office procedures
  • Excellent written and spoken English - spelling and grammar
  • Strong keyboard skills with a typing speed of at least 35wpm and a high level of accuracy
  • Intermediate level abilities in Microsoft Powerpoint and Word (recent evidence or test results are required as part of the application)

Along with your proactive approach and ‘can do’ attitude, you will also offer:

  • A friendly demeanor and the ability to work independently within a team environment
  • The ability to prioritise your workload in a fast-paced environment and working within determined timeframes
  • High level communication skills and the ability to relate to a wide range of people, ages and cultures
  • Effective listening skills; respect and consideration to others
  • Problem solving, time management and organizational skills

Our successful candidate will have completed Year 12 (or equivalent) and may have qualifications in Business or Administration studies.  Previous experience in an office environment and/or within the non-profit sector will be looked upon favourably.

You will be required to hold a current National Police Certificate, or have the ability to obtain one prior to employment.
