The Anglican Church Southern QLD provides a range of Anglican pastoral care services in hospitals and aged care facilities across Southern Qld.
We currently have a rewarding and challenging opportunity for a Pastoral Carer with the passion and skills to provide high quality Anglican pastoral chaplaincy to the Gold Coast University Hospital and, as one of the four Diocesan Regional Coordinators, oversee the coordination and support of Anglican pastoral care in the hospitals of the Gold Coast.
Working up to 30 hours per week, the Pastoral Care Coordinator will:
· Provide appropriate chaplaincy/care services.
· Supervise, and be responsible for, the Anglican care visitors/volunteers.
· Liaise with the local Anglican parishes for out of hours care and the sacramental roster.
· Coordinate and support the Anglicans in hospital care ministries in hospitals on the Gold Coast.
· Initiate ways to gather appropriate volunteers, and coordinate their training and placement
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:
· Experience, skill and competency in pastoral care in hospital environments
· Evidence of ability to work and care for people of varied backgrounds, and people with varied abilities.
· The capability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive and personal information gained through pastoral conversation.
· The capability to implement and interpret policies and procedures to ensure a high quality service of care provided within the hospitals.
· Evidence of working as a team leader, training others and supervising volunteers
You will also be required to:
· Hold and maintain a current National Police Certificate (or ability to acquire)
· Hold and maintain a current Positive Notice (Blue Card) for Child Related Employment (or ability to acquire)
Most importantly, you’ll be a passionate and engaged Pastoral Carer with the energy and drive to gather, train and develop appropriate volunteers to help support this vital area of ministry within the Anglican Church Southern Queensland.
