About the Position

The Anglican Church Southern QLD provides a broad range of services from Bundaberg in the north to Coolangatta in the south and across the south-west from Birdsville to Brisbane. We provide much needed services for the community, including parishes, schools, theological education and financial services, and residential aged care facilities, community care and social service programs through Anglicare Southern QLD.

All services within the Anglican Church Southern QLD are strengthened by our Finance team in Brisbane’s CBD, who support the mission of the church by ensuring the proper management of all financial, banking, investment and treasury services across the region.

We currently have an opportunity for a Business Performance Analyst - Child Safety, to join our team, providing support in the Budget & Business Performance team.

The Business Performance Analyst is responsible for providing financial support to their service area through understanding and interpretation of financial results and business trends. This role requires partnering with operational leaders to develop and deliver budgets, in depth performance reporting, forecasting and scorecard development. The focus is on the provision of business analysis to enable business improvement and reporting against key performance indicators.

The ideal candidate will have an advanced level of Excel and MS Office generally, a demonstrated ability to prepare briefings notes and written reports, and an ability to manage competing deadlines. An understanding of aged care operations, community services, or the not-for-profit sector will enable you to thrive in this role.

 

The successful applicant will require:

  • Relevant tertiary degree (accounting, business or finance)
  • Recently qualified or studying towards a professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA, CIMA)
  • National Police Certificate (or ability to acquire)
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse performance
  • Demonstrated ability to provide high level customer service
  • Management accounting experience in a multi-program organisation with a large number of designated cost centres
  • An understanding of the development of budgets in a multi-program organisation
  • An understanding in the development, analysis, evaluation and reporting of financial and performance metrics
  • Ability to identify potential improvements to business processes and service standards
  • Previous experience in an accounting role (desirable)
  • An understanding of the operation of a shared services model (desirable)
  • An understanding of how to develop zero based budgets (desirable)
